60th Anniversary!!

Posted by Goulding Park Rangers on Dec 15 2017 at 01:11PM PST

2017-2018 SEASON HAS STARTED AND WE WILL BE WEARING TWO VERY SPECIAL PATCHES

This season, we are celebrating 60 years of hockey at the Goulding Park Hockey Association. The North York Rangers are proud of being a part of the 60 year tradition of the Goulding Park Hockey Association, in providing competitive hockey to the community at all levels. Combined with Goulding Park and the North York Rangers OJHL Jr. A team, we offer approximately 1,000 children the opportunity to learn and develop their hockey skills, from the age of 4 when a child first puts on skates through to our North York Rangers AAA and OJHL Junior A teams. As a community based not for profit association we operate only with volunteers who contributed more than 40,000 hours during an average season. We look forward to many more years of growth of minor hockey at Goulding Park Hockey Association.

This season, we also remember the passing of our great friend and mentor Brant Snow. Brant was the longtime president of the North York Rangers and Goulding Park Hockey Association as well as an executive with the North York Rangers Junior A team playing in the OJHL. Mr. John Filion, City of Toronto Ward 23 Councillor, remembers Brant as someone who didn’t liked to be singled out, but preferring to blend in with the team, as if he really thought there was nothing special about what he accomplished over four decades as the most exceptional community volunteer he has ever seen. Over four decades, he played key roles in many local and regional sports organizations. His passion for the game of hockey and baseball and all his players will not easily be replaced.
